Arturo Gallegos Castrellon, aka “The Farmero”, an alleged member of Los Aztecas gang, was extradited from Mexico in connection with the murders of workers in the U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez in 2010.

The assistant attorney Lanny Breuer said Friday that Gallegos Castrellon was presented to Judge Robert Castaneda in El Paso, Texas, to face 12 charges contained in a criminal indictment unveiled in March 2011.

“We allege that Gallegos Castrellon participated in the shooting of the U.S. consulate in March 2010. His extradition to the U.S. is an important step in the pursuit of justice for the victims, “said Breuer.

In March 2010, they murdered consulate employee Ann Enriquez Catton, her husband Arthur Redelfs and Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, husband of another U.S. Consulate employee.

Of the 36 defendants, a total of 33 have been arrested. Of these, 24 have pleaded guilty and one committed suicide while in captivity. U.S. expected to be extradited six from Mexico.

Justice Department officials said the two countries are seeking the arrest of the two remaining fugitives, Luis Mendez and Eduardo Ravelo, who is in the list of 10 Most Wanted Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Gallegos Castrellon If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Federal officials unsealed a 14-count grand jury indictment against various alleged Sinaloa Cartel members. Among the members involved in the April 11 indictment are Joaquin Guzman Loera, aka “El Chapo,” Ismael Zambada Garcia aka “Mayo,” and 22 other individuals responsible for the operations and management of the Sinaloa Cartel.

The indictment calls for multiple charges of conspiracy to possess and import firearms and drugs in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. Murder, kidnapping and other violent crimes are also mentioned in the document.

“Murder, kidnapping, money laundering and drug trafficking are the four corners of this organization’s foundation,” stated U.S. Attorney Robert Pitman. “For years, their violence, ruthlessness and complete disregard for human life and the rule of law have greatly impacted the citizens of the Republic of Mexico and the United States. They must be held accountable for their criminal actions.”

This investigation resulted in the seizure of hundreds of kilograms of cocaine, and thousands of pounds of marijuana in cities throughout the United States. Law enforcement also took possession of millions of dollars in drug proceeds which were destined to be returned to the Cartel in Mexico. Agents and officers likewise seized hundreds of weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition intended to be smuggled into Mexico to assist the Cartel’s battle to take control of one of the key drug trafficking corridors used to bring drugs into the United States. “These charges are an important step in bringing to justice those responsible for supplying a large portion of the illegal drugs flowing into communities in the United States through the El Paso area, as well as much of the violence that has ravaged neighboring Ciudad Juarez,” said Joseph M. Arabit, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration-El Paso Division.

Two journalists found among victims of slaughter in Chihuahua Bar

CHIHUAHUA, April 21. – Two journalists were killed in the slaughter of a bar in the city of Chihuahua, a fact linked to the retail sale of drugs and car theft, said the DPP.

The reporters were identified as Hector Javier Garcia Salinas and Francisco Javier Muñoz Moya, located by the Office of the State as “circumstantial victims” as advanced as the gunmen were looking for two people that sell drugs in the area, one woman identified James and Nora Hernandez, who also died in the fray.

The slaughter occurred in the Colorado Bar, located on Cypress Street and Gonzalez Cosio, of the Colony Farm, north of the state capital, where at least four armed men entered asking for two drug dealers, and no response fired everyone who was at the bar, killing 15 of the 17 who were at that time, leaving you more seriously injured and a waitress who was saved by hiding in one of the bathrooms.

The Prosecutor of the Central Zone, Carlos Mario Jimenez, said at a news conference in the folder open investigation in this case, the investigations revealed that the aggression was directed to several persons at the scene allegedly involved in the distribution of retail drug.

The site has secured three reported as stolen vehicles, a Dodge Durango black color, a Nissan Frontier pickup and a white VW Golf.

The experts found inside the bar thirty 9 mm shell casings, twenty 7.62 x 39 assault rifles AK-47, or “goat horns” and a size 40.

Pools require clarification murder journalists

Elements of the Mexican Fiscal Police arrested in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, the driver of a trailer trying to enter the country 268,000 cartridges of firearms used preferably by organized crime.

CHIHUAHUA, April 17. – In a span of six hours, four women were killed in three separate incidents in Ciudad Juarez, one of which brought her baby in her arms, which was miraculously unharmed, as the gunmen fired 27 times.

The report of the Chihuahua State Attorney said that the first of the events occurred around 13:45 hours, when two women who were inside a vehicle were shot dead. The experts indicated that the bodies of two women were sitting in the middle of a Chrysler vehicle Vollager, green color, which a man allegedly trying to sell in an area called Ciudad Juarez which offers vehicles of all types. None of the women was identified, they were brown, about 25 years old, and showed signs of violence as multiple injuries caused by gun fire in various parts of the body.

Forensic experts in Field located five bullets of 9 mm.

The second event occurred about 15:45, when gunmen shot dead a woman he was leaving a store and walking through a park. The police found the third female victim of violence in Ciudad Juarez, lying on the intersection of Jose Luis de Velasco and Russia, Colonia Campestre Viceroys. The lifeless body was on the bench and had multiple injuries caused by firearm projectiles in various parts of the body.

The third attack occurred around 18:14 pm in a house located at the intersection of Park Private and Libya, Colonia Campestre Viceroys.

A woman identified as Queen Jimenez Aguilar, age 25, was shot inside her home in the back of it, where she was with her daughter, who was also unhurt. There they found 15 bullet casings sizes 9 mm and .40.

In all cases the women were killed with firearms of the same caliber and no one stopped the gunmen.

CHIHUAHUA, March 28. – Two women involved in the business as sex workers in Ciudad Juarez, were arrested by the judicial police, accused of extorting more than ten traders in the center of the border.

The Attorney General’s Office reportedly detained the two women identified as Jessica Galaviz Galindo, aka The Jessy, 24, and Luz Elena Hernandez Hernandez, aka Alexia 33, for their alleged role in the crime of aggravated extortion.

The women were arrested when they charged 350 pesos in protection fees to a dealer in the streets in La Paz and Miguel Ahumada of the downtown area.

The arrest of the two prostitutes came after the victims verified the corresponding report that as of November 2011 they began to pay 1,500 pesos weekly by way of dues.

He explained that they first visited him and demanded that they pay a man’s share [El Flaco], who was previously arrested on charges of extortion and identified as Alexander Martinez Felix Carreon, alias El Flaco.

The man threatened him saying that he should pay the fee, “as the first time you pay 2,500 pesos and 1,500 pesos after a week every Saturday, if you value the lives of your children so he paid without any consequences.”

He added that two weeks after the arrest of El Flaco, the two women demanded the shares that he had been paying to continue and they were also arrested for extortion and identified as Eugenia Rocio Triana and Karla Ivonne Ceballos Castillo.

However, on 18 March, the businessman reached two other women and told the dealer that he gave the amount of 1,500.

The dealer reported the incident and that was when the women were arrested.

When interviewing the detainees, they said that working for a subject nicknamed “El Chino” their functions was to deliver threatening messages to several area businesses, then their leader intimidated them by phone calls and ultimately agreed to pay shares.

They said they came to collect the money from more than ten businesses in the downtown area and received a payment of 700 pesos a week for their work.

They also said they engaged in prostitution and working in the downtown area offering sexual services, making a profit of 500 pesos per day.

Sierra of Chihuahua- suspected drug traffickers killed

Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), – At least ten suspected drug traffickers were killed in a clash between members of rival groups in the Sierra of Chihuahua, in the state of the same name located in northern Mexico, officials said.

The confrontation occurred in the town of Temósachi, about 226 kilometers southwest of the state capital, Chihuahua state prosecutors said in a news release.

The spokesman of the unit, Carlos González, said that the shooting started  Sunday night and lasted until early Monday morning.

The official said some of the alleged “criminals escaped” leaving their dead, after attacking a group of officers of the Police who arrived at Ministerial place after an anonymous tip

The site is now guarded by the military to “ensure the tranquility of the people,” he added.

Gonzalez said that the ten bodies were taken to the city of Cuauhtemoc, about 540 kilometers from the scene for identification.

In Chihuahua, where the border city of Juarez, there have been a quarter of the nearly 50,000 deaths nationwide since 2006 linked to the violence of drug trafficking .

Experts say violence in Ciudad Juarez is a result of clashes between the Juarez cartel, Los Zetas, the Beltran Leyva and Sinaloa.
